AFTER an Ozamiz court denied their request to attend the wake and funeral of their parents, Parojinog siblings Nova and Reynaldo Jr., appealed to Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa for help in facilitating their request to see their departed parents “for the last time.”
“Nanawagan po kami magkapatid kay PDG Ronald dela Rosa na tulungan kami na makapunta, makita sa huli pagkakataon ang aming Papa at Mama kahit sa huling araw nang lamay nang parents namin,” wrote the Parojinogs in a handwritten note sent to the PNP chief.
In the same letter, Nova, the Ozamiz vice mayor and Reynaldo Jr., also told Dela Rosa that the intelligence reports stating that they will seek revenge for the bloody raid in Ozamiz City last July 30 was a mere “fabrication.”
The written request was made public after the Ozamiz City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 denied the siblings’ request for a two-day pass to attend the last night of the vigil and funeral of their father Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., mother Susan, uncle Octavio and aunt Monna.
Nova and Reynaldo are detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame on charges of illegal possession of firearms and drugs.
“The Court is overly concerned for good reason that the presence of the accused-movants would provide the spark that would ignite and cause those emotions to erupt and for the opposing sides to turn violent and clash against each other, thereby endangering the security and safety of the accused-movants,” the ruling read.
The Parojinog siblings expressed sadness over the court’s decision.
“Ito na po ang pinakamasakit na kabanata sa aming buhay magkapatid,” they said.
“Sadya talaga ginawa ang istorya and pag fabricate nang intelligence report ng police Ozamiz na gaganti daw ang aming pamilya pagkalibing nang aming mga magulang. Wala po katotohanan ang lahat nang intel report na iyan. Dahil wala po kami kapasidad para gumamit ng dahas, never namin naging ugali ang maging marahas,” they added.
