Technolux organizes food safety seminar

Technolux, the country’s largest importer and supplier of foodservice, small wares and laundry equipment, cited the need for food safety in the country.

The company said to spread awareness of food safety, it would hold a business series featuring “Benchmark for Food Safety – HACCP” at Mall of Kitchens in Kamagong St., Makati City on Oct. 27.

HACCP or Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points is a preventative food safety system in which every step in the manufacture, storage and distribution of a food product is scientifically analyzed for microbiological, physical and chemical hazards.

Technolux said participants in the free seminars would learn about HACCP, its importance in day-to-day store/restaurant operations, the six HACCP prerequisites, goals on food safety and food demos to be conducted by a guest chef from Global Academy.

It said participants would also learn more about the best equipment that they need when opening a business or upgrading their kitchens.
